Email forwarding automatically sends copies of your incoming emails to another email address.
When to Use Email Forwarding
- Consolidate multiple email accounts into one
- Forward work email to personal email
- Create a backup of important messages
- Temporarily forward email while away
Step 1: Log into Webmail
- Go to https://email.northwoodsmail.com
- Enter your credentials and sign in
Step 2: Open Mail Settings
- Click your email address in the top-left
- Click Settings
- In the left sidebar, click Mail
Step 3: Configure Forwarding
- Look for Forward or Filters section
- Click Add Forward or Create Filter
- Enter the email address where you want mail forwarded
- Choose whether to keep a copy in your mailbox
- Click Save
Keep or Delete Original Messages
- Keep a copy: Messages stay in your inbox AND forward to the other address
- Don’t keep a copy: Messages only go to the forwarding address (your inbox won’t have them)
Recommendation: Keep a copy as a backup.
Test Your Forwarding
- Send a test email to yourself
- Check both your inbox and forwarding address
- Verify the message arrived in both places
Troubleshooting
Forwarded emails aren’t arriving:
- Check the spam folder of your forwarding address
- Verify the forwarding email address is typed correctly
- Make sure forwarding is enabled and saved
To stop forwarding:
- Go back to Mail Settings
- Find your forwarding rule
- Click Delete or Disable
- Click Save
